SKIM LATIHAN 1 MALAYSIA (SL1M) DI SIME DARBY


OBJECTIVE
The objective of the programme is to enhance the employability of graduates in securing a job upon completion of the training scheme.

BACKGROUND
Skim Latihan 1Malaysia (SL1M) program was launched on 1st June 2011. It is a training program aims to help the young graduates who are still unemployed to enhance their marketability with appropriate skills, knowledge and working experiences throughout the training process in order to increase the possibility in advancing their career in the future.

This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program was regulated by Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department (EPU, PMD) with collaboration and active involvement from Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) and private sectors whereby the training cost was fully sponsored by the companies. As a token of appreciation, the participating companies are allowed to claim either Double Tax Deduction Incentive or HRDF-SL1M incentive after the program ends.

SL1M TARGET GROUP
Graduates who are unemployed
Graduates who are underemployed (where qualification does not match with employment and/or salary)
Priorities to be given to the underprivileged graduates from poor family background or rural areas

Trainee will undergo Soft-Skills and On-The-Job Training with participating company to sharpen his confident level while exposure will be given in real working industries environment. The duration of the training is depending on company’s needs with a maximum period of 12 months.

TRAINING AND PROGRAM STRUCTURE FOR SL1M MODULES
  • Compulsory soft-skills modules for SL1M participants:
  • Soft-Skills Training: 2 Months (Monthly allowance: minimum of RM 1,000)

  • Organisational Adaptability
  • Value Driven Professional and
  • Grooming & Etiquette

Additional modules to enhance the professionalism, physical, spiritual and moral values of participants:
  • Classroom Training
  • English for Business Communication
  • English Language Proficiency
  • Financial Management
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Self-Motivation Drive
  • Self-Discipline
  • Physical & Spiritual Enhancement
  • Interpersonal Relationships
  • Outdoor Training Activities
  • Team Building
  • Event Management Activities
  • CSR Projects
  • Physical Exercise & Discipline Building
  • Taekwondo
  • Marching (Berkawad)
  • Sports and others
  • Religious, Spiritual & Moral Values Enhancement

On-Job-Training : (minimum for 6 months and maximum for 10 months)(Monthly allowance: minimum of RM 1,000)

Job Placement
Participants are to be assisted by their attachment companies to secure a job before the end of the programme

The logo design concept is the summary of the 1Malaysia Training Scheme which operates through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Its combination with 1Malaysia reflects the modern and simple image based on the concept of 1Malaysia
